國民黨總統參選人洪秀柱閉關3天後，其競選辦公室6日上午將舉行「堅持走對的路」記者會，由洪秀柱親自對外說明閉關沉思的心得。

洪秀柱2日深夜在臉書宣布：「暫停每天陀螺般的行程，進行深刻的反省與沉思」，隨即進山到廟中沉思。

洪辦原本表示，洪秀柱要到9日才會有公開行程，但5日卻突然通知，6日上午10時洪秀柱將親自舉行記者會，說明閉關思索的心得以及未來選戰的方向。

洪秀柱5日晚在臉書表示，幾天平靜無擾的生活，消除了一些累積的疲累，也讓急切緊張得以緩解；寧靜特別能讓人清醒，對現在這些紛紜複雜的問題，也漸漸有了清晰的輪廓。洪秀柱表示，師父的一句「吉祥」，道盡了慈悲與智慧；從政的人也就是要從另一個脈絡，給國家與人民吉祥；她寫了一篇名為〈反省與承擔〉的感想，希望出關後，無論等待自己的是多少風雨，自己也都能神清氣爽的面對。
